Student Rights and Responsibilities Form

Here is the link to the Student Rights and Responsibilities book.  Here is the link to the signature form indicating that you have received the information.  The signature form must be completed and returned to school by Wednesday, October 29, 2021. You may also e-sign the form by logging into your Parent Vue Account.  Please note that your name in the digital signature box must match the parent/guardian’s first and last name in SIS exactly before the signature will be accepted. Please call the school at 703-467-3500 if you have questions or difficulties accessing the form.

CogAT Testing

In an effort to obtain additional information about your child, the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) will be administered to all students in grade 2 and grade 3 general education classes. It is important that your child attend school on these days, if possible. If your child must miss school during this time period and your child does not have another ability test result in their student record, they will have an opportunity to take another ability test later this fall. The purpose of the CogAT is to provide information about students’ developed abilities in verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal reasoning.  Children are not expected to know the answers to all questions and will be given opportunities to practice sample items before taking the test. The CogAT is an abilities test, so children are not expected to study or prepare for the test the way they would for an achievement test.

In addition to the 2nd and 3rd gen ed students, any student in grade 4-6 who does not have an ability test score on file and any student whose parents requested a one-time retake opportunity will be given the CogAT.

Testing dates for CogAT:

CogAT for 2nd and 3rd grade (general education classes only):  October 19, 20, 21

CogAT for 4th-6th grade students:  October 26-29

PTA Teacher and Staff Hospitality

As we are starting to try and return to some sort of normalcy, mental health is such a huge, needed focus for all of us. As our teachers work hard to make sure they are meeting the mental health needs of our children, we would also like to make sure their mental health needs are being met! The PTA is hoping to provide a small monthly treat for all the Oak Hill Staff to say thank you! Please look over the sign up and if you can help with this month's treat. Oak Hill PTA would greatly appreciate it and so will the staff! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0a4daca829a31-kindness
