Back to School Night Tomorrow!

Annandale Students, Parents and Community:

We are looking forward to hosting Back to School Night tomorrow!

Back to School Night is an opportunity for families to learn more about what your student is learning in school and how to better support them. During this challenging time, we are approaching Back-to-School Night a little differently than in years past. We will be offering a hybrid model which includes both a virtual and in-person option.

Virtual Option

On the Annandale High School website, we have videos that teachers have created explaining what your student is learning in their class and how you as a family can best support them. You will be able to access these videos beginning tomorrow, September 30.

In-Person Option

After many months of only virtual interactions, we would also like to offer an in-person option for those who would prefer this method. Tomorrow from 6:00-8:00pm, we will provide an opportunity for families to interact with their student’s teachers in a meaningful way and briefly discuss the student’s progress. Families will have brief conversations with their student’s teachers to gain a snapshot of how the student is performing so far this school year. Here are some reminders for this event:

  • Bring a copy of your student’s schedule with you so that you can identify your student’s teachers
  • Remember that these are very brief conversations that should last no more than five minutes each. You may always arrange for a longer parent-teacher conference at a different time to discuss your student in more detail.
  • Translation services will be limited and you are welcome to bring your student with you to attend, as needed.
  • Be mindful of time and prioritize which teachers you would like to conference with since you may not be able to connect with every teacher.
  • While waiting for your turn to conference with a teacher, please remember to socially distance.
  • While we are outdoors, we encourage all attendees to wear masks.

This event will take place outdoors on our football field. It will begin at 6:00pm and end at 8:00pm. Please be mindful that parking is limited and we recommend parking at the back of the school.
