Guidance for Student Sent Home with COVID-Like Illness

With cold and flu season upon us, your child may be sent home from the care room after presenting COVID-like symptoms. We all want them back in the classroom as soon as they are well. Starting Monday, October 4, the Return to School form is no longer needed; instead, we will follow the following guidelines.

Students may return to school when their symptoms have improved and they have not had a fever without fever-reducing medications for at least 24 hours, AND have at least one of the following:

Updated Covid Guidance

Please note, if your child has been identified as a potential close contact or close contact to a positive case, your child will follow the guidance provided by the health department to be cleared to return to school.

As a reminder, any student who is ill or has COVID-like symptoms should remain at home. The daily health screening questionnaire and all translated versions can be found on our Health and Safety Guidance webpage. Daily completion of the health screening is done on an honor basis and does not need to be sent to the school.

FCPS Cares

The FCPS Cares Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story so we can acknowledge our Kings Glen staff members.

Boosterthon Fun Run

With your support and generosity, the PTA was able to achieve historical fundraising numbers with this year's Boosterthon fundraising event:  we raised over $54,000 for our schools and community this year!

Beyond the financial numbers, we had an all-time high registration level of 76% and a 63% participation rate, another all-time high.  Thank you to all of the parents, relatives, neighbors and other sponsors who took the time to register, share and donate to support the students, teachers, schools and community.

We are so thankful to Trish Alegre-Smith for giving her time and talent to capture photos of fundraising event, which you can view on our website
