Kiss and Ride Reminders

We want to thank our families for following our Kiss and Ride guidelines.  Here they are in case you plan to go through Kiss and Ride in the future:

  • Families should remain in the car at all times.
  • Students should exit the vehicle wearing a mask.
  • Students must exit and enter the car from the school side (right side) of the vehicle.
  • If your child is unable to buckle or unbuckle their seatbelt independently, please pull into a parking space. Staff are unable to help with buckles.

Walker Pick Up Reminders

  • If you meet your child after school on foot, please be sure to stay in the area surrounding Door 7 (white tent/benches near the playground) until your child is dismissed. We have plenty of seating for you while you wait in that area.  Please do not wait near the outdoor classrooms (quads)
  • We have witnessed some parents parking halfway down Iva on the non-school side of the street and remaining in their cars while their students cross the street, weaving through the Kiss and Ride line. For safety purposes, students and adults may only cross Iva Lane at the crosswalk near Door 1 or at the bottom of the hill at Elizabeth Lane.  If you are not going to pick up your children in the Kiss and Ride line, please plan on parking and meeting them near Door 7.

The FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities document explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable and supportive school environment. Parent/Guardians can acknowledge receipt of the SR&R in ParentVue in your child’s SIS account or sign the Parent Signature Sheet to acknowledge that you have received this document.
