Lost Laptops and Chargers
When students lose an FCPS provided laptop or charger they are responsible for replacing them.
Replacement fee for lost computer equipment:
- Dell 3310 Laptop Computer ($472.00)
- Dell 3310 Charger ($23)
Replacement charges can be paid either through:
- MySchoolBucks - https://www.myschoolbucks.com/
- Check - Bring in a check to Twain’s Main Office made payable to “Twain Middle School”. Write the Student ID# on the Memo line.
Once a student pays the replacement fee, we will provide them a new charger or laptop. Please do not purchase a replacement charger through outside stores or vendors.
Family Life Education (FLE) Parent Preview
Lessons and media are available for Twain’s parents to preview in Schoology. Additional information can be found on the FCPS Website at Middle School Family Life Education. Parents can opt their students out of any lesson or all FLE instruction. Opt-Out Request Forms can be found at the link above. Translated Opt-Out Request Forms are also available on that website. A virtual FLE Parent Preview session will be held in October. The date is being finalized and will be shared with you soon.
PTA Updates
First PTA Meeting of the Year. Join us for the first PTA meeting of the year. Get an update from Mr. Miller, approve the budget and find out what’s planned for October. Zoom call on September 28, from 7 to 8 pm.
All 2021-22 PTA members (i.e. those who have paid dues) will automatically receive the Zoom link for all PTA meetings. If you are not a current PTA member, email mtmspresident@gmail.com for the link by 6 pm September 28.
Spirit Night @ Chipotle, October 12, 4 to 8pm. Participate in our first Spirit Night. Please to eat in or carry out from Chipotle and give back to the PTA through your purchases. See event info on Facebook.

FCPS Needs School Bus Drivers
New Incentive - New drivers will receive a $3,000 signing bonus - $1,500 after consecutive employment of 90 workdays, and $1,500 will be given after the first 180 working days (paid school days) if the driver receives a satisfactory yearly evaluation and is recommended for continued employment with FCPS Office of Transportation Services.

New Hourly Rate for School Bus Drivers - We are also excited to share that the hourly pay for bus drivers has increased to $22.91!
A $1,000 recruiting bonus is available for any FCPS or Fairfax County employee who recruits a school bus driver. Certain conditions apply. Applicants must be able to pass hiring and training standards and must drive for a minimum of 90 school days. For more information, contact the Applicant Center - Connie Lovejoy at 571-423-3023.
