Can you believe that Fall starts on Thursday? The weather might not feel like it – but it’s true! So, we need to start thinking about some fun Fall events – Fall Walk & Bike to School Day (Wednesday morning, October 6) and the Fall Festival (Saturday, October 16, 2–4pm). Both events need volunteers and you can sign up on our website. Read more below about the Fall Festival and see why we need so many volunteers!
We had great turnout for the first PTA meeting of the year, where we gave an overview of PTA events and plans for the year and heard Mr. Kemmerer give us school updates. The PTA slides and a video of Mr. Kemmerer’s talk will be posted to our website by Monday. While on the website, please show your support by joining the PTA!

Save the Date! In lieu of Hallowingo, we’re celebrating Halloween this year with a Fall Festival! October 16th from 2-4pm with various games (Yes! There will be Bingo!) and activities set up around the playground at CPES. Snacks will be provided and kids have chances to win prizes and wow the judges in a costume contest, and you could be the big winner in the 50/50 raffle.
But we need YOU to make it happen! Volunteers are the backbone of events like these, so please consider lending a hand. Check out the Fall Festival page for more information.

We have several easy ways to earn dollars for our PTA from Harris Teeter and Amazon Smile. See details about each one below and be sure to sign up!
Harris Teeter
Please register your Harris Teeter VIC card or sign up for one. Each time you shop the PTA will earn a small donation for eligible items purchased. Go to https://www.harristeeter.com/together-in-education#/app/cms to register your card. Click on ‘Link Your School Today’, scroll to Together in Education and designate our school ID: 4069. Be sure to ask friends and family (local or out of town) that have a VIC card to register so we can earn even more for our PTA. Harris Teeter requires customers to re-register each fall. Right now, we have 12 cards linked, let’s see if we can double it and get 24!!
Amazon Smile

Your eligible purchases on Amazon earn money for the PTA!! Go to smile.amazon.com and select Cunningham Park Elem PTA as your charity. A note from the PTA Afterschool Coordinator: My run as coordinator has been a great experience. I have gotten to know so many wonderful students, staff and members of our greater community. Alas, with my only student now in 5th grade, it is time to find my successor(s). Afterschool can be run by an individual or a team, and the program can be as small or as big as you want it. Have you tried to join our Neighbors Helping Neighbors group and had a problem getting through? We may have a glitch in our system. While we work it out, please e-mail Erica Lee to request to join the group.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors is our e-mail group to recieve updates on needs within our community - things such as snacks for classrooms/school clinic, winter clothing, grocery gift cards and more.

INFORMACION EN ESPANOL
¿Pueden creer que el otoño comienza el jueves? Por el clima no parecería: ¡pero es verdad! Por lo tanto, debemos comenzar a pensar en algunos eventos divertidos de otoño: el Día del Caminar e ir en Bicicleta a la Escuela en Otoño (miércoles 6 de octubre por la mañana) y el Festival de Otoño (sábado, 16 de octubre, de 2 a 4 pm). Necesitamos voluntaries para ambos eventos y pueden registrarse en nuestro sitio web. Lean más sobre el Festival de Otoño a continuación y vean por qué necesitamos tantos voluntarios.

Se proporcionarán bocadillos y los niños tendránn la oportunidad de ganar premios y sorprender a los jueces en un concurso de disfraces, y ustedes podrían ser los grandes ganadores de la rifa 50/50.
