Dropping off late or picking up early?

If students will arrive to school late, or have a doctors appt, please call or email our attendance line to let the main office know.

Attendance Line: 703-326-3535 or LakeAnneESAttendance@fcps.edu

Please let the child’s teacher know if you plan to pick up a student early. If you plan to pick up your student early, you must be in the office for an early pickup of your student by 3:00pm. This will minimize the impact on the students and staff as they are working to complete their day.

Elementary Parent Information Meeting: Advanced Academic Programs

Tuesday, September 21 | 6:30pm | Cafeteria

A parent information meeting will be held at Lake Anne Elementary  on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria.  The AART will provide information about levels of service and examples at Lake Anne, explain the screening processes, and answer questions about part-time school-based and full-time Level IV services. Parents who want to attend are encouraged to find alternate childcare for their children.

Advanced Academic Program Level IV Referral and Screening Meeting

Wednesday, September 29 | 6:30-7:30pm | Cafeteria

Parents of students in grades 2-6 who would like to refer their child to the Level IV Screening committee should plan on attending this meeting.  The Level IV program is for students who require enrichment in all four core subject areas, Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts.

Students who need the Level IV program are generally ones who are above grade level in more than two areas of the curriculum for at least 80% of the year.  These students often will have mostly 4’s on their report cards, meaning that they exceed expectations in their classrooms.  Nationally normed test scores for these students often fall in the range of 120 and above.  These students should be able to pass advanced on the SOL math and reading tests (500 or above).

This meeting will explain how to refer your student, which forms to complete and what kinds of work samples are important for the file.

If you cannot attend, the Power Point presentation will be shared on the Lake Anne website after the meeting.

StreamInCheckIn

StreamIN/CheckIN

StreamIN/CheckIN is FCPS’ solution to provide meaningful instructional support for students who are  paused, quarantined, or isolated due to COVID-19.

Livestreaming, or StreamIN, is the key element--a process where students have live access to watch and hear what’s happening in the classroom via Zoom or Google Meet.

Teachers may choose to record and post lessons instead of livestreaming. More information to come from FCPS over the next week!
