What is Fun Run you ask? It's an exciting event that gets the students engaged with spirit and character building events throughout the week that culminates in a Fun Run event during the school day on September 24th. It is also a fundraiser for the school which generates funding for initiatives such as STEM, more outdoor equipment and enrichment.

But what about Covid? Students will be participating in the Fun Run outdoors. Grades will come together and classes will be separated on their own tracks so they remain with their cohorts. If the weather doesn't cooperate we will complete a dance party within the student's classroom with their peers.

Do we need volunteers? Yes!  We need parents to help run the event on the day of. Sign Up Here!

Kiss & Ride Reminders

To ensure that everyone is safe during daily arrival and dismissal, please be sure to follow the dismissal procedures outlined below.

If you are driving your child to/from Clermont, you must use the Kiss and Ride loop for everyone’s safety.

  • Follow the Kiss & Ride directional arrows. Kiss & Ride is located on the left side of Clermont when you are facing the building. The front loop of Clermont is for buses only.
  • Please stay in your vehicle! Staff members are available to help students into and out of vehicles.
  • Your child’s booster seat should be on the passenger side of the car, if possible, so that Clermont staff can help your child exit your vehicle.

At no time is it ever safe to park in the parking lot and walk your child through the parking lot traffic, or through the bus loop! Children follow the example of adults, and other children may see you doing this with your child and think it is ok to walk through the moving cars as well.

Bus Notice: No Bus Passes This School Year

Parents, please be advised that this school year, due to Covid protocols as well as bus driver staffing shortages, students will not be granted bus passes to ride any bus they are not currently assigned to. Parents wishing to arrange afterschool playdates must arrange their own transportation. We thank you for your cooperation.

Free Tutoring

Junior Scholars is offering free tutoring to 3rd-6th graders this school year. Parents can sign up their students for up to 2 lessons a week at https://www.jscholars.org/. Classes are all virtual over Google Meets.

This fall, students in grades 1-6 will take the iReady reading and mathematics assessments. More information about the assessment can be found on the FCPS Universal Screener Parent Notification webpage. For questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
