Franklin MS Weekly Update - September 10

Franklin Families and Students,

Good Afternoon.

We hope that you can join us for our Back to School Night event on Monday, September 13. This will be a virtual event via Zoom that features a synchronous presentation from the FMS Leadership Team. This session will be recorded and shared with the community if you are unable to join us at 6:00 PM. The session will feature updates about Schoology, Health and Safety Procedures, our Interdisciplinary Teams, After-School Activities, and supports that will be in place for your student this year. Additionally, we will be sharing Welcome Videos from all of our teachers that you can watch with your student. We hope that you can join us at this virtual event!

All Franklin families will receive an email on Monday afternoon with the link to the Zoom session, an online form to submit questions for the event, and access to the Welcome Videos from teachers. This information will also be posted to our Falcon Families Course in Schoology.

Finally, in recognition of the 20th anniversary of September 11, Franklin MS commemorated and acknowledged the loss of life, the heroism of our first responders, and the resilience of our country. Our school observed a special moment of silence this morning that was moderated by one of our 8th graders and all students had the opportunity to learn about and recognize the anniversary of 9/11 during their Social Studies classes this week.

Always feel free to reach out to our team or contact me directly at dpwright@fcps.edu if there is anything we can do to support your student and your family.

Best wishes for a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

Sincerely,

Dustin Wright

Principal
