Popsicles on the playground

Herndon Bees are invited to join us at the Herndon Community Center playground for dinner, popsicles and fun with classmates!

This is a great opportunity for your student to play, connect with old and new friends. Parents can connect with one another and members of the Herndon Elementary staff.

When: Wednesday September 29, 2021 from 6:00-7:30pm


Location: Herndon Community Center Playground, 777 Lynn Street
Herndon, VA 20170


Other Details: Please note that as this is an outdoor event, masks will be optional. Also, the play dates will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. Please let us know if your student is unable to have popsicles so that we can provide an alternative.

Student Monitor: This is fabulous for those who want to work only when the students are in session. Training will be provided!

Description

Provides supervision of students throughout the school day to include but not limited to the classroom, hallways, lunch, recess, specials and at arrival/dismissal; helps maintain order and discipline and assists in managing the behavior of students; operates technology; performs administrative and noninstructional duties; ensures all layered prevention/safety protocols and procedures are implemented and followed; works with individual and small groups of students.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. Must be comfortable managing student behaviors in large and small groups, ensuring all layered prevention/safety protocols and procedures are implemented and followed; and has general familiarity/skills with basic office technology in support of teachers, students, and the classroom.

  $15.73/hour 

Dining Room Assistant: Assists students in the cafeteria during lunchtime. Supervises student clean-up, keeps order, and dismisses students to their teachers. This is a great part-time job!  No experience needed.

 $11.56/hour

School Public Health-COVID Case Manager

Description

Monitors and manages COVID case data in schools in concert with the local health department. Works closely with students, staff, administration, FCPS central office and the County Health Department. Accesses and uses student information system data to assist health department staff with contact tracing - identifying close contacts and reporting to the health department. Uses applicable technology to collect, maintain, analyze and report data related to management of potential exposures. May assist with collection and/or coordination of COVID testing.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. Two years of public health or other relevant experience preferred. Proficiency in the use of technology. Ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance with established procedures; to establish and maintain positive relationships with school staff and students; and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Family Liaison We are looking for an additional family liaison.  Family liaisons serve as a link between families and schools.  Ideal job for a stay-at-home parent----can work during hours the child is at school.  Please click here for more information. 

Reading or Math Intervention Teacher Provides support to schools in the expertise of math or reading.
