Dear Westgate Families,
I hope this finds you having a wonderful week. Things are in full swing here at Westgate and it's been amazing getting reacquainted with all of our students. They have transitioned back to school seamlessly, and it is refreshing to be able to begin to build our community of learners again.
Thank you to all that attended our virtual Back to School Night last week. We hope you were able to gain insight into your student's life here at Westgate, and learn more about both their teacher and the curriculum.

PTA & Advanced Academics Meeting - Sept. 21
The first virtual PTA meeting of the year will be held Tuesday, September 21 at 6:30 pm. Please log on using the Zoom link below to hear about our upcoming events and activities. After reviewing PTA business, our new Advanced Academics Resource Teacher (AART), Meg Sutton, will join us to discuss the AAP (Advanced Academic Programs) Levels of Service.
This year is Mrs. Sutton's eighth year of teaching in Fairfax County Public Schools. She has taught a variety of grade levels and supported Local Level IV AAP, general education, and special education students. She has received the FCPS Advanced Academics teaching endorsement and is thrilled to be working at Westgate this year!

We know the pause process is frustrating and sometimes confusing for families. The flowchart below is posted to the FCPS website and is something you can share with your community to help them understand the process better.

COVID Dashboard
All FCPS COVID-19 cases are reported via a dashboard posted to the FCPS website and updated daily. While this does not outline the number of students quarantining, it does allow families to understand changes in the situation at their school. Feel free to share this with your families in your newsletters!
