Social and Emotional Learning and Supports at LCES

sel

Social and emotional Learning (SEL) is at the forefront of our work here at Lees Corner. Each month the clinical team (counselors, social worker and psychologist) will answer parent questions regarding students' needs in and out of the classroom. All questions are anonymous and no contact information will be collected. We ask that any urgent student or family matter be addressed directly with a member of the clinical team. Please click on the link below to access the form to submit your question.

PTA News

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! We remain committed to continuing to put the support of our students, staff, and community as the number one priority after such an unusual school year. There will be many opportunities for us to work together, keeping with annual traditions and creating new ones! The PTA is here to support our Lees Corner school community and your pledge will provide funding for the following:

  • Community events, dining days, ice scream socials, Book Fairs, and events to help keep our community connected.
  • Field trips and cultural arts assemblies during the school year.
  • Appreciation events for Teachers, Counselors and School Staff.
  • Computing/STEAM Program
  • Staff Enrichment.
  • Hallowingo Gift baskets and contest prizes.
  • 6th Grade basketball game and luncheon celebration.
  • Classroom teacher grants to be used to enhance student classroom experiences and periodicals
  • Special Education Support
  • Grounds Beautification

By joining the PTA, you help us meet our school’s needs that are outside the scope of the school’s budget. When you go a step further and volunteer to help with events—or join our board— you set a fine example for our students to follow, and greatly encourage our teachers and staff.

We are looking forward to another great year at Lees Corner, working with our parents, teachers, and students.

We hope you will join us now!

Kiss and Ride: Helpful Tips

Many families will use Kiss and Ride for both arrival and dismissal and the line can get long. Please be patient and kind with one another and our staff on duty! Here are a few more helpful tips:

  • morning drop-off starts at 8:35 a.m. for now. This time may be adjusted in response to traffic patterns.
  • plan on being in line early
  • drivers should remain in the car
  • school staff will be on duty to assist students in unloading and loading
  • children should unload from the car on the passenger side only
  • cars should remain in a single file line. Passing other cars is NOT allowed in order to ensure the safety of all students.
  • afternoon pick-up starts at 3:35 p.m.
  • for afternoon pick-up, please display your assigned number in the right corner of your front windshield. Make sure your child knows what your number is (ie. 352). We will use the numbers to call the students out to your car.
  • Kiss and Ride ends before 4:00 p.m. Any students who have not been picked up by that time will be taken to the office. Parents will be contacted and must come to the office to sign their child out.
