Dear Poplar Tree Families,

It was a busy 2nd week of school! Our students are settling into school routines, and we hope that  your family is settling into the new routines as well. Transportation improved greatly this week. Please make sure to thank your child's bus driver. We are grateful for our fabulous staff, supportive families, and our outstanding students.

Please know that we continue to observe and modify our practices to help ensure a safe learning environment for students. We appreciate the continuous feedback and suggestions that you have provided us. We are in this together (with masks on)!

And, we also want to thank our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for the yummy Bundt cake treat that they provided to our staff this week. It was a helpful boost! Please take a couple of minutes to join our PTA. The information is listed below.

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

family life education

Family Life Education Program

Students in grades K-6 have special lessons though out the year within the Family Life Education Program.  In grades 4, 5, and 6 also include lessons in Human Growth and Development.  Parents have the option to opt students out of all or some of these lessons.  For more information about the program and to access the opt out forms please click here

On Back to School Night (Wednesday, September 22nd), we will hold a brief virtual overview of the program and answer questions that you may have from 6:30-7 p.m.  A link to the session will be included in the messages about Back to School Night.  The session will also be recorded and posted on our webpage in late September.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact Carol Larsen, Assistant Principal (calarsen@fcps.edu ).

parental consent

At Poplar Tree, we use a variety of digital tools to support meaningful student learning. Some of these tools require parental consent before they can be used.

❤️63% of our school population has already provided consent - THANK YOU! We really want  consent from 100% of our Poplar Tree families! 💻

You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent here: https://poplartreees.fcps.edu/adopteddigitalresources. After reviewing these resources, please complete 🔗 this form 🔗 to indicate whether or not your student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year. Your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission, so the sooner we can get the permission the better!

Please reach out to our School Based Technology Specialist, Leslie Leisey (lfleisey@fcps.edu) or your child's teacher you have questions or concerns. THANK YOU!!!
