Message from the Principal

Greetings Saxons,

Week one is in the books. It has been phenomenal to have all of our students back in the building. A huge shout out to our teachers and staff who have made each of our students feel welcome. I also thank parents/guardians for your patience and understanding as we have dealt with bus delays and traffic issues in the parking lot at the end of the school day. School administration continues to work with FCPS transportation regarding the issues with bus delays. I am also working to find resolution related to the repair work on Georgetown Pike.

While the school year has just gotten underway, we have reason to celebrate in Saxon Country. Congratulations to our fantastic crew team! They had a phenomenal showing in the VSRC State Championship Regatta held in June. We also congratulate our Girls’ Lacrosse team on winning the VHSL state championship! We are so proud of these student athletes!

As you know, our athletes not only compete hard on the court and on the field, but also in the classroom. The most recent example of this is the recognition recently earned by our volleyball team. They are the recipients of the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award. Our volleyball program has earned this recognition consecutively since 2004. What a tremendous feat! Congratulations to the players, Coach Shifflett, and all of the coaching staff.

Again, parents/guardians, thank you for your understanding as we work to alleviate congestion at the conclusion of the school day. As previously shared, students should only be picked up at Kiss and Ride, located at Door 14. I respectfully ask that families not use Langley Oaks as alternate pick-up location. Langley seeks to maintain positive relationships with home owners in adjacent neighborhoods. Parents picking up  their students in neighborhoods hinders our ability to do so. Thank you for your cooperation.

I wish each of you a great weekend.

Hail Saxons,
