Staying Connected
Each Tuesday you can anticipate schoolwide news to be shared via Kings Park ES's Weekly News You Choose email. Families will be updated on specific classroom learning, events and happenings via weekly emails from classroom teachers. Families can also routinely review student work samples as indicated below.

Safety Drills Resume 2021-2022
Now that all students are back in school five days a week, FCPS will resume all safety drills. The drills that your child will participate in include; Lockdown drills, Fire drills, Tornado drills and Bus evacuation drills. As you received notice earlier today, our first Lockdown Drill will occur tomorrow. KPES staff spends time in advance of all drill types to teach and practice with students so that they know what to do and understand the purpose is to keep us all safe in an emergency.
Join the PTA. You can now join the PTA for the 2021-2022 school year! Being a PTA member has numerous benefits -- it's a great way to meet new friends and become more involved in your child's school and community. Join on our website! Keep in Touch with the PTA. As we move into the new school year, a great way to keep in touch with the PTA is to subscribe to our newsletter and/or join our Facebook group. Volunteer with the PTA. Keep an eye on the PTA's website for ways to volunteer with the PTA this school year. First PTA Meeting of the School Year. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, September 14 at 7:00pm at Kings Glen for the first PTA meeting of the 2021-2022 school year!
PTA Ice Cream Social and Community Resource Fair. Please join us for the PTA's annual Ice Cream Social and Community Resource Fair on Friday, September 17 at 6:00pm at Kings Glen! Enjoy an individually-wrapped treat and meet with some of our local after school and community vendors while the kids play on the playground. Please note masks are required for this event.
Boosterthon Fun Run Fundraiser 2021. We are excited to kick off our Kings Park Kings Glen PTA Fun Run on September 15. Our goal is to raise $32,000 for water bottle filling stations, classroom and technology enhancements, as well as for other school and PTA projects.
We’ve again asked our friends at Booster to power our fundraiser and make it profitable, fun, and easy for everyone! This year, the daily character development lessons will take Sports City around the world all leading up to the Fun Run on Friday, September 24.
If your family is not in a position to financially support the school right now. You can still be involved by simply SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and extended family online at mybooster.com. Sharing IS supporting!

Just as we worked to safely begin school this year, we are also safely hosting this essential fundraiser based on the school’s current guidelines. We’ll send more details as we get closer to our kick off and the Fun Run day.
