First day of school

Buzzy Bee welcomes students back on the first day of school!

Dear Bee Families,

We have had a wonderful start to the year! Did you feel the excitement of the 1st day? We rolled out the red carpet for our students, had music playing and the Herndon and Fairfax County police departments came out to cheer our bees on!

Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we work through first week logistical challenges. We promise to continue communicating necessary updates so that we can make our arrival and dismissal processes as safe and efficient as humanly possible. We have simply loved having children back at school and have truly appreciated how diligent families and students have been wearing their masks. We all want to stay in school and we know how much wearing masks will help!

Our vision for this school year is simple.

  • Strong relationships with each other and our bees will drive all that we do.
  • We will know our bees as scholars.
  • Every student will know #YouBeelonghere

As always, we are a team. Please let us know what questions or compliments you might have.

Warmly,

Candace J. Hunstad           Stephanie Almquist            Elizabeth Baxter

Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, and Menu

Each student is eligible for one no-cost breakfast and one no-cost lunch each school day. If your student would like to purchase additional meals or a la carte items, they will need to pay. The best way to purchase items this year is to use MySchoolBucks. Set up your student’s MySchoolBucks account and help them memorize their pin. If you have questions about MySchoolBucks, your school’s front office staff can help.

Students may bring food from home if preferred.
