Kings Glen doors open for student arrival at 8:30 a.m. Dismissal will begin at 3:20 p.m. We will dismiss as a school in the following waves:

  • 3:20 p.m. Kiss and Ride
  • 3:23 p.m. Walkers/SACC
  • 3:25 p.m. Buses dismissed one at a time (in the order they arrive)

Consent for Digital Resources

Our Kings Glen teachers and staff will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent here: https://kingsglenes.fcps.edu/adopteddigitalresources . Additionally, you can find more information about approved digital resources in FCPS here: https://www.fcps.edu/resources/technology/digital-resources.

Included on this page is also a link to a form where the enrolling parent or guardian will need to indicate whether or not their child can access digital resources this year. This page also provides more information about how FCPS carefully reviews digital resources for approval and why we must request your consent before using certain tools. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible. Your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission.

Attendance

We are off to a great 2021-22 school year and are so happy to have students back in the building!

Families are asked to limit the amount of time your child will be out of school for travel to the scheduled FCPS student holidays.  Please review the 2021-22 school calendar (https://www.fcps.edu/calendars/standard-school-year-calendar).

Student Rights and Responsibilities

The Student Rights and Responsibilities Book is a guide for families explaining the expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety.  We ask that you review this document and use it as a framework for discussing these expectations with your child.

Printing of the actual Booklet has been delayed so we ask that you review the book at the link below and return the signed Parent Signature sheet to your child's homeroom teacher by October 29, 2021.

Health and Safety Updates

As we prepare to begin the 2021-22 school year, FCPS is aware of your questions and concerns about the Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus. The health and safety of our students, staff, and community are the school system’s highest priority and every day we are working closely with health officials to review our layered prevention strategies and ensure our schools and buildings are safe places to learn and work. We are also using universal masking as a key mitigation strategy.

We encourage all families to review the FCPS Health & Safety Document which includes information regarding:

  • Universal Mask Wearing
  • Cleaning & Disinfecting
  • Hand Hygiene & Respiratory Etiquette
  • Ventilation

Screen for Illness Every Day, Stay Home When Sick

As a reminder, any student who is ill or has COVID-like symptoms should remain at home. The daily health screening questionnaire and all translated versions can be found on our Health and Safety Guidance webpage. Daily completion of the health screening is done on an honor basis and does not need to be sent to the school.

We’ve again asked our friends at Booster to power our fundraiser and make it profitable, fun, and easy for everyone!  This year, the daily character development lessons will take Sports City around the world all leading up to the Fun Run on Friday, September 24.

If your family is not in a position to financially support the school right now, you can still be involved by simply SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and extended family online at mybooster.com. Sharing IS supporting!
