Principals' Message

Happy Friday CES Community,

It has been an amazing week connecting and reconnecting with our CES Students! Our Eagles are doing a wonderful job learning and following the new safety protocols put in place this year. This is the key to allowing us to stay in-person learning together. Please reinforce with your student/s at home the importance of proper mask wearing while at school.

We hope to see many of you tonight at the PTA Welcome Back Picnic at 5:30pm on the blacktop. This is a great time to connect with other community members as well as some of the CES Staff. Speaking of PTA, please consider joining/supporting the CES PTA. Their partnership and backing truly are vital to the success of the school.

The dismissal process is improving each day, thank you for your flexibility and patience. Our Kiss-n-Ride line continues to be abnormally long. If your student can walk or ride the bus, please consider these options to allow for less car traffic.

As shared earlier today, CES is in need of support for the café during lunch time (10:30am - 1:30pm).  If you or someone you know is interested in getting paid to support the school, please contact Kathy Culleiton in the front office for more information.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Rachel, Jen, & Josh

Calendar Reminder: Schools Closed September 3-September 6 for Labor Day Break

Virginia legislation requires that schools opening prior to Labor Day must be closed the Friday immediately preceding Labor Day.

As a result, Friday, September 3, is a holiday for students and staff members in addition to the Labor Day holiday, Monday, September 6. See the complete 2021-22 school year calendar.

Emergency Care Forms and Health Information Forms

FCPS provides weCare@school enabling parents to manage their emergency medical and contact information online. Each year we ask for your review and update of your student’s Emergency Care Form and Health Information form. This year we are going to collect this information digitally using the weCare system.

WeCare is available through your SIS ParentVue account. Please go into your WeCare account and review your student’s emergency care and health information. Any updates can be made online.  Please click submit even if no changes are made. This is very important.

More information and how to update information can be found here.

    • As of July 2021, Blackboard 24-7 Learning or Google Classroom is no longer in use
    • Schoology has a connected web conferencing tool, Zoom
    • Schoology works with Google Drive
    • You need a SIS/ParentVUE account to login to Schoology

Parent Consent for Digital Resources

At Centreville ES our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used.

  • Please fill out this form for each to provide your consent.  Please note:  one form must be filled out for each of your students.
  • You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent here:
  • We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible, as your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission.
  • For help with completing the form visit the How to Fill Out the Application Permission Form webpage.
  • If you have questions or concerns about the digital resources that may be used this year, please reach out to your child’s teacher once class placements are made available.
