Eagle Express - Volume 2

Good Day Braddock Families,

We had so many smiling faces on our first day of school and again today. Thank you for your patience, as we continue to work around the construction and ensure the safety of all of our students and staff during this pandemic.

We have experienced several students who do not know their full legal name, you can help us by working with your child to memorize their full name. They need to be able to say it to an adult and recognize it when called.

We have had to make a few changes to our arrival and dismissal processes due to construction, please make yourself familiar with the information below:

Morning Arrival:

  • Kindergarten students will meet their teacher at Door #3, the cafeteria
  • 1st and 2nd grade students will meet their teachers at Door #4, near the gym
    • Starting next week, students will enter Door #4 and walk directly to their classroom, please have your child practice saying their teachers name.
    • There will be plenty of staff station in the hallways to ensure your child gets to their classroom safely.
  • 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will walk directly to their classroom starting at 8:30 a.m.
  • ALL students will eat breakfast in their classrooms.

Dismissal

There are four ways our students are dismissed from school, please make sure your child’s teacher knows how your child is getting home each day. If you change how your child is getting home, please notify your child’s teacher immediately. For more information please see the transportation flyer in your child’s folder.

  • Kiss and Ride:
    • You must be in a car and you will pull up to Door #3. A staff member will look for the yellow card with your number. They will then call your child’s name, they will be waiting safely inside the cafeteria. Your child needs to respond when their name is called.
    • A staff member will walk your child to your car and help them inside.
    • Please stay in your car - do not walk up to Door #3
    • Please watch this video for more details about Kiss and Ride: https://spark.adobe.com/video/N6LrFKlZUEyrV
  • Bus or Van Riders:
    • Students will be dismissed to the bus and van lines where our staff will take attendance and get them safely on the bus.
  • Walkers
    • Kindergarten
      • All Kindergarten students MUST be handed to a parent/guardian that is listed on their emergency contact form.
      • Parents will line up beside the wall outside of the gym (Door #4)
      • Staff will get each student one at a time.
      • Please be patient as we learn you and your child. The process gets faster after the first few weekS.
    • 1st Graders
      • Students will be seated in the gym (Door #4
      • Parents will line up and will enter through Door #4 - let a staff member know your child’s name, teacher, and grade.
      • A staff member will bring you your child and you will walk through the gym and out the other door.
    • 2nd - 5th Graders
