Dear Shrevewood Parents/Guardians,
We are planning for and excited about our strong return to school tomorrow Monday, August 23. Thank you to all the families that attended our open house last week. Recently, I’ve received several questions about students eating lunch at school, so I wanted to provide our plans for lunchtime this year.
- All students will eat lunch in the cafeteria.
- The lunch schedule runs from 11:00 - 2:00 each day.
- Students will be in assigned seats and encouraged to remove their masks only when actively eating or drinking.
- Most students will be seated at cafeteria tables in every other seat and not directly across from another student as much as possible.
- Classes will have snack time outdoors (weather permitting).
- Time is built into the schedule for the custodians to do additional cleaning and disinfecting in between class lunches.
- No more than two grade levels will be in the cafeteria at a time.
- All students will have time to wash hands or use hand sanitizer before and after lunch.
- We have added four air purifiers to the cafeteria.
- We have also added increased supervision to help monitoring our mask mandate.
As always, safety is our number one priority as a school community. We want to reassure you that we will keep you in the loop with any adjustments or updated information regarding our school safety and procedures. We’re looking forward to seeing our students tomorrow morning. The doors to our school will open at 9:05 am. Kindergarten families are welcome to walk their child down to class on the first day only. Masks are required for all visitors. We can’t wait to see all our children tomorrow morning!
