Student Support Dog-Sunny

We will continue to have occasional visits this year from a Student Support Dog named Sunny. She is a well-behaved Golden Doodle who supported many students last spring in feeling calm and nurtured at school. She is not a service dog and so can be interacted with and petted. She will not attend school every day, will remain leashed and secluded from the student population most of the day, and will be available to specific students as part of their wellness plans. However, your student may see her in the hallway or at arrival or dismissal from time to time. This dog has been approved by myself and FCPS and complies with school board regulation. Please talk with your student about this animal if you feel that would be helpful.

I understand that you may have concerns regarding your student’s exposure to an animal on school grounds. Please know that this particular support animal is hypo-allergenic. Feel free to contact me at awerbrecht@fcps.edu if your student has a fear of dogs that would prevent them from possibly coming into contact with Sunny as we are able to make sure that would prevent them from possibly coming into contact with the dog . We believe that a safe school environment is everyone’s right and will work with you regarding your concerns. We look forward to finding every creative way we can to reconnect and recreate a positive school climate and community! Thanks for your support.

Parent Vue Accounts

If you need to set up a Parent Vue account or need assistance to reset your password please contact  Jasmine Washington at jwashington1@fcps.edu or Jenni Carnahan at jscarnahan@fcps.edu for assistance.  Please allow 1-2 business days for them to respond.

Meals

All students may receive one (1) no-cost breakfast and one (1) no-cost lunch meal each school day. This never-before implemented benefit combined with all students returning to school buildings has the potential to significantly increase participation in the meal programs. Menus, allergens, and nutrition information are all available online at https://fcps.nutrislice.com/menu/.

Students should bring a water bottle with them to school which can be refilled at hydration stations.  Students will not be permitted to drink from water fountains.

Students will have the opportunity to eat lunch outside in designated areas (weather permitting).

For the most up to date information on meals provided by the county please refer to this link.
