Masks
Properly fitting masks will be required at school by everyone at all times while indoors and on the bus. More information about this and other safety considerations including COVID-19 exposure protocols can be found here on the FCPS website.
Schedule & Calendar
The CVHS bell schedule and A/B day calendar can be found at this link.
Required Forms and Digital Consent
Please be sure to complete the required return to school forms such as the emergency care form and digital consent form at this link on the school website.
Parking Passes
Please be sure to give yourself extra time to arrive the first week of school. Traffic will be heavy as everyone adjusts. Plan to arrive early and avoid the stress. Here is information about student parking passes and Kiss & Ride.
Laptops
Student Laptops will be distributed to students through their English classes during the first week of school beginning on Aug 25 & 26.
Lockers
Student lockers will be available by request beginning the third week of school. There will soon be a link posted on the school website to make a locker request. More information will be shared with students soon.
Lunch
All students are able to receive both breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria at no cost this year. Families who qualify for free or reduced price meals are still asked to complete the application in this link as many other services are available beyond lunch.
Please see the points below about lunch and safety:
- Students will be required to wear masks in the cafeteria when not actively eating and drinking.
- They will need to wear their masks while going through the serving line.
- Students will put their mask back on when they finish their meal.
- Cafeteria spaces will be regularly and thoroughly cleaned with a sanitizing solution.
- It is recommended that students wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer before and after eating.
- FCPS Food Nutrition Services works closely with the Fairfax County Health Department to ensure proper food safety and sanitation.
Because most students (99.5%) will be back for in-person learning, physical distancing will not be possible in most classrooms, hallways, or in the cafeteria. We do have limited outdoor seating spaces, which will also be used on days when the weather is good.
Students will not be required to face the same direction when eating lunch, as was the requirement last year. This kind of layout will simply not allow the cafeteria to accommodate all students.
Student Schedules
Student schedules will be available in SIS Parent VUE and Student VUE on August 19th. Hard copies of student schedules will also be available at the Wildcat Welcome Open House on August 18th.
Bus Schedules
Bus schedules are anticipated to be available in SIS Parent VUE on August 19. If they are not available at that time, please continue to check back as the transportation office is working hard to finish the routes during a challenging time with driver shortages.
Registering for SIS Parent VUE
It is important that parents and students are able to access your SIS account. The Student Information System (SIS) supports all aspects of a student’s educational experience and includes demographic data and information related to scheduling, attendance, discipline, health, grades, test results, and academic programs. SIS is a secure, web-based system accessible by staff, students, and parents.
Visit this website to learn more about registering for your SIS account.
Schoology
CVHS along with other FCPS schools is transitioning to Schoology as our new learning management system replacing Blackboard 24/7. Teachers are busy learning the new platform, and will be sharing more information with students as the year gets started. To learn more about Schoology you can visit this website.
Attendance
Information about CVHS attendance policies and reporting absences can be found on the school website here.
Water Bottle
We encourage students to bring a reusable water bottle. Water bottle filling stations are available throughout the building.
We look forward to seeing our students soon!
