Message From Principal Quigley

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Open House tomorrow.  We ask for your assistance with keeping the number of individuals down by following the schedule below.

As our staff returned this week, we have been treated to lunch and many other surprises by our FSES PTA.  We so appreciate the support our parents provide through the PTA and we encourage you to sign up as a member if you have not already done so.

See you soon!

Kathleen Quigley

Open House and PTA Ice Cream, August 19th

Please join us for our Open House event on August 19th.  All children and adults will be required to wear masks in the building.

Open House is a time for families to see their children’s classrooms and meet the teachers.  You may drop off school supplies for those bringing their own supplies.  Supplies ordered through the PTA will be delivered to the classrooms.

Our School Health Room Aide will be available for families who need to drop off medications.  Forms and information about medications can be found at the School Health Services website.

In order to accommodate all families with social distancing in classrooms and around the school, we are requesting families arrive at the times based on last name alpha. Universal masking is required for all at this event.

3:00 PM – 3:30 PM     Last names A-L

3:30 PM – 4:00 PM    Last names M-Z

After you visit the school and classrooms, our PTA invites you to enjoy a cool treat outside on our field and playground.  This is a chance to join the PTA and purchase spirit wear.  It’s a great time to meet other Franklin Sherman families and learn more about the school community.

Emergency Care Forms, Health, and Safety

Please update the emergency care information on file for each of your children enrolled in Fairfax County Public Schools.  FCPS is committed to ensuring that the climate in all FCPS facilities is safe and secure. In support of this goal, FCPS provides weCare@school (weCare), an emergency care information system, available to FCPS parents and guardians who have registered for their own SIS ParentVue account.  If you need assistance with your ParentVue account, please contact Ann Rajabi in our office.

As we bring all of our students and staff back to buildings, FCPS is committed to doing all we can to provide a safe environment for everyone to learn and work.  We will all wear masks indoors.

For more information about health and safety in FCPS, including information regarding masking and social distancing, visit the Return to School - Safety website.

Parental Permission to Use Digital Resources

Fairfax County Public Schools provides access to digital resources to maximize learning opportunities and protect student privacy. Each digital resource used in FCPS has gone through an instructional and technical review process. Information about the educational technology tools approved for use within FCPS can be found in the online Digital Ecosystem Library

Some FCPS-approved resources require parental consent before they can be used by students. Please review the Digital Resources at Franklin Sherman site to learn about the tools that students may use during the 2021-2022 school year and provide your consent.  It is critical that parents respond to the request for parental permission so teachers can plan and begin to use the best and safest technology tools with students.

Parents can find more information about FCPS-approved digital resources on the Digital Resources in FCPS webpage.
