Message from the Principal

Wildcat families,

I hope that everyone is enjoying the summer!  We are certainly beginning to feel the excitement of a new school year approaching.  As we enter into August, we will be sending more frequent communication and information that will be important for the return to school.  We encourage you to stay connected and carefully read through both the FCPS and school level communications.  We will also be updating the school website regularly over the coming weeks.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact the main office, or an administrator.  We are looking forward to having students and the community back on campus very soon!

Chad Lehman

Principal

Wildcat Welcome

We invite everyone to attend the Wildcat Welcome open house event at the school on Wed, Aug 18, between 5pm-7pm.  Students can get a copy of their schedule, walk the building, visit with various clubs and activities, join the PTSA, learn about various community resources, and reconnect with the school community.  We hope to see you there!

Bus Survey

Be sure to complete the bus survey sent by the Office of Transportation Services (OTS).  It was sent to all eligible bus riders. It is important that parents respond to the survey by August 4, 2021, and submit a separate survey for each of their children enrolled in FCPS.

Schoology

We are excited for Schoology, FCPS' new learning management system, which is replacing Blackboard 24/7.  Schoology is being implemented at CVHS and across the county this year. Schoology is a learning space that enhances communication, collaboration, and personalized learning for students, teachers, and families.  To learn more please visit this website.

Laptop Distribution

Laptops will be distributed to students during the first week of school.  Students will get more information when they return to school.

School Supplies

Students only need a few basic supplies for the first days of school such as a notebook, pen, and pencil.  Teachers will provide more information about what specific supplies to get for each class during the first few days.

Parking and Kiss & Ride

More information is forthcoming and will be posted on the website about student parking passes and kiss and ride directions.

Masks

To ensure our schools stay open and safe this school year, FCPS will start the school year with universal masking. Masks will be worn at all times by both staff and students indoors and on school buses, but are not required when eating or when outside during recess, PE, or other activities.

The most effective tool for preventing the spread of COVID-19 is widespread vaccination. If you and your child are eligible for vaccination and have not yet had your shot, visit one of our school vaccination clinics or make an appointment to be vaccinated as soon as possible.
