A Message from Ms. Jankovich
Hello Sangster Families!
I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying your summer! Whether you are traveling or just staying in the area, it’s certainly time to rest and rejuvenate before the 2021 – 2022 school year gets underway. Mrs. Redford, Assistant Principal, and I are excited to be back at work, preparing for the return of our students, staff, and parents. We anticipate opening our doors with somewhere around 900 students and almost 100 staff members. Remember, the first day of school is Monday, August 23, 2021.
We know that many of you may have questions about what the upcoming school year will look like in regard to social distancing, mask compliance, and other mitigation strategies. We are continuing to follow the guidelines set forth by the district and of course will update you closer to the time of Open House with all the necessary information you need. Right now, anyone who comes into our school, vaccinated and unvaccinated, must wear a face covering, as students are currently in the building.
Speaking of Open House – mark your calendars for Thursday, August 19th! Students with last names beginning with A – M will be able to come in anytime from 9AM – 11AM to drop-off their supplies in their classrooms and meet their teachers. Students with last names beginning with N – Z are invited in from 12PM – 2PM on August, 19th. If you ordered school supplies through Sprout, they will be available for pick-up on August 19th as well. The PTA and Military Spouses Group will be on hand to share information for those of you interested in joining. We will be contacting you early in the week of August 16th with teacher and room assignments.
Finally, knowing the unusual circumstances of the 2020 – 2021 school year, we wanted to provide all of our students (not just our new students) an opportunity to visit our school, tour some areas of our first floor, and connect with new and old friends on the playground while enjoying a popsicle. Our amazing PTA will be on hand to share information for interested parents, and Mrs. Redford and I will be there to say hello too! Please see the flyer below with more information!

Sangster summer office hours are 9AM-1PM, Monday through Friday. Please contact us at 703-644-8200 to schedule an appointment.
2021 – 2022 Back to School Nights
At this time, Sangster will be holding in-person Back to School Nights and hope to provide a virtual option or a recording for those unable to attend. We are working with a local Girl Scout troop to offer babysitting as an option as well. Should we need to transition to all virtual presentations (and not in-person), we will let you know.

Each year the office of Transportation Services reviews the current year Bell Schedule and makes minor adjustments as necessary to improve on-time arrivals.

Lake Braddock Middle School Jump Start Program – REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
Each year, we offer MS Jump Start as an orientation program to acclimate rising 7th grade students to their new school as well as any rising 8th graders, new to Lake Braddock.
This is a tremendous opportunity for new students to tour the school, meet some resourceful staff, gain some knowledge from past middle schoolers and have some fun while getting excited about the upcoming schoolyear.
