Request for Medical Professional Volunteers!!
We are proud to announce that we will be collaborating with West Springfield High School and South County High School to offer a joint Physical Night for 2021! This event serves as our main source of fundraising to replenish athletic training supplies for our student-athletes, such as tape, bandages, braces, etc. We rely heavily on the number of medical professionals we can recruit to volunteer their time to perform the physical examinations. The more volunteers we have, the more student-athletes we can accommodate, and the more money we can raise! If any of our Lake Braddock community members are medical healthcare professionals (MD, DO, LNP, or PA), please consider donating your time and expertise as a key component in assisting the Lake Braddock, West Springfield, and South County’s Athletic Training Programs. LBSS Sports Physical Night
We are proud to announce we will be collaborating with West Springfield High School and South County High School to offer a joint Physical Night on Monday, July 19th, 2021! The event will be hosted at West Springfield in our attempt to offer a central location. Health and safety guidelines will be in place to keep our athletes and our volunteers safe! We receive no funding from the county, so we rely heavily on this event raising enough money to replenish athletic training supplies for our student-athletes. Appointments will be offered in 30-minute increments beginning at 5:30 and finishing at 7:30 pm. Please CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP! You will receive a confirmation email and a reminder one week prior.
VHSL Physical Form *NEW REVISION* for 2021-2022
The VHSL has released their latest version of the VHSL Physical Form, which was revised in January 2021. This new model includes some significant changes to the medical history questions, provides more detailed descriptions of what the physician should be checking for in the exam portion of the physical, and even includes some changes to the format of each page, drawing attention and focus to required responses and signatures!
Due to the extensive amount of changes in this document, FCPS (Lake Braddock) will ONLY accept this new version of the VHSL physical form for athletic participation in 2021-2022. Any VHSL physical exam submitted for next school year must be dated on or after May 1, 2021 and be completed on the Revised January 2021 version. Athletics & Activities Registration for 2021-2022
We have cleared out the 2020-21 activities and opened registration for the 2021-22 school year! Rising 9th graders have been uploaded into the system as well, allowing parents to register their child for the upcoming sports seasons! This new system collects the Emergency Care information and Concussion Education requirement electronically, requiring less paperwork and simplifying the tryout process. Please visit the Lake Braddock Activities & Athletics Registration Website to get your child set up for each sport they intend to tryout for next year! On the homepage, you will find step-by-step instructions for returning users and new users. There are also some helpful FAQs and a Registration Guide available for reference!
Freshman Football 2021 - 2022
Currently rising freshman are working out in the weight room with our strength coaches every Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30-5:30PM, learning the basics, getting stronger and getting to know their future teammates.
Please email Coach Mike Dougherty at mjdougherty1@fcps.edu to be added to the mailing list and to get your player involved right away. We are planning a virtual meeting in the next few weeks to go over everything before the summer starts.
