Last Day of School Updates

Principal's Message

d

Dear Families,

We can’t believe that this will be our final News You Choose of the 20-21 school year!  I’m sorry that we are not all reflecting on the musical concerts, end of the year picnics, class plays and the Talent Show.  Mr. Credle and I would like to reflect on how our students tackled new learning by logging in to virtual teaching daily or how they transitioned back to in person learning.  We are reflecting on how students made connections to their teachers and classmates, how they learned to persevere when studying distantly became very tough.   We had the pleasure of logging into classrooms as well and saw our staff work to new lengths to make sure their virtual platforms were accessible to all and how in person classrooms followed all mitigation strategies to keep everyone safe.  And none of this would have happened without YOUR support!

I have never felt more of a sense of pride for leading this school community and want to thank you for being so responsive at a time that was so unsettling for us all.  I heard from so many of you who shared suggestions, kudos and shared stories that mirrored my own personal life. Thank you for your questions and please continue to reach out to me over the summer and let me know what we can do better as we begin to think about the 2020-21 school year.  FIVE days of in person instruction next year and we couldn’t be happier for that!

I wish you one amazing summer of freedom!  Freedom to move about the country, freedom to see friends and family and freedom from the worry that consumed us all over the last year and a half!

Sincerely,

Holly DeVore, Principal
