Note re. Friday for 6th Grade Families

Dear Families of Sixth Grade Cardinals,

A tradition at Cunningham Park is for 6th graders to take one final walk together through the school at dismissal.  With this having been such an unusual year, we would love for you to be included in your child’s event as you are able.

This Friday, June 11th, we invite you to gather at 1:10pm between Door 3 and the school’s playground.  Be sure to keep the sidewalk clear, as we will escort our newly minted graduates down that sidewalk, through their proud, cheering parents, and end for photos and goodbyes at the school playground.

Remember to cheer just as much for all 6th graders, as some parents may not be able to be here, and all deserve to be celebrated.

Students who are 100% virtual are welcome to join their classmates outside of Door 3 for that final walk if they would like.

Students whose parents are present may check in with their teachers to be dismissed from the playground. Walkers will dismiss from the playground.  Kiss & Ride students who are being picked up normally will return to the cafeteria like usual.  Bus riders riding the bus as usual will also return to the school building for their buses.

Note: please do NOT park in the Kiss & Ride or bus lane, or in any way that will impede the normal dismissal flow.

Our appreciation goes to the parents and our 6th grade teachers, who, together, helped plan this special closure for the year.  This will be a fond memory for students.

Sincerely,

Katie Le, Principal and Jon Kemmerer, Assistant Principal
