Franklin MS Weekly Update - May 28

Franklin Families and Students,

Good afternoon! I would like to start this message by thanking our families, our staff, and our students for all of their hard work and support during the last three weeks as we completed our SOL assessments. Earlier this week, we completed the majority of our testing and we couldn’t have done it without all of your support.

When we return to school next Tuesday, it will be the month of June and there is a lot going on at our school. Here are a few highlights:

  • We will be hosting an opportunity for our students to celebrate the year together on Monday, June 7. All of our in-person and virtual students are invited to attend, but they must sign-up in advance for one of the two sessions. Students will have a chance to connect with their peers, enjoy some time outside, and receive/sign previously purchased yearbooks. Transportation is not provided so students will need to live within walking distance or be dropped off and picked up. More information and the sign-up link can be found below.
  • Our Student Award Ceremonies will look a little different this year at FMS. During our Falcon Time class (4th period) on Wednesday, June 9, we will present a virtual ceremony to our entire school. A recording of this will be shared with the community. Additionally, all of our students will be celebrated individually with their Falcon Time peers during the remainder of the class period. We are excited about this new addition to our end of the year celebrations.
  • The NJHS Pinning Ceremony for 8th graders will take place virtually on Monday, June 7 at 6:00 PM. A link for this ceremony will be shared with all NJHS members that are attending the event. The 7th Grade induction ceremony will take place in the Fall.
  • Our teachers will be sharing SOL scores with their students beginning on Tuesday, June 1. The scores will appear in the SIS gradebook as an ungraded assignment. Official SOL score reports will be available in SIS ParentVue in mid-July.
  • The Last Day of School is on Friday, June 11 and it is a two-hour early release. Our school day will end at 12:00 PM. The bell schedule that day will allow our students to connect with all of their teachers one final time.

On behalf of the entire FMS staff, we hope that you have a wonderful holiday weekend. Enjoy the time with your family and friends.

Sincerely,

Dustin Wright

Principal
