Message from the Principal

After a year that we have rewritten so many times, it feels odd that it is actually coming to an end. In many ways, I'm glad to have closure on this most unusual school year and yet it feels that it has been so short.

Looking ahead at the next two weeks we look forward to celebrating all the accomplishments of our students. They have persevered through a time we will not forget and I am confident they have learned along the way. It was different than what one envisions for their new kindergarten student and the many playdates and new in school experiences, how students thought their year would go with traditions of Greco Day, the fifth grade Dig, sixth grade Science Fair, Book Fairs, or enjoying weekly pencil sales in the hall.  While many things changed, our students still grew in different ways and I'm thankful for the appreciation for school, hard work and perseverance I have witnessed and tremendous support from our community. We got through this school year together and these final weeks should be about celebrating what we were able to accomplish in this very different school year. As I have shared with our staff, the 2020-21 theme this year was "Together We Can" as a school community, "Together We Did."

We continue to face challenges as we work to close out and reunite all of our students virtually and in-person. This is not easy and we are doing the best we can to recognize our 100% virtual students and celebrate along with them while we are closing out our in-person students. There are opportunities during these final weeks for our 100% virtual students to join their classes, if this is an option. I understand that not all our students can do this and we will do all we can to make our closing events as inclusive as possible.

With Appreciation,

Stacy Kirkpatrick
