1. From the Principal's Desk
Dear Members of the Chantilly HS Community:
Memorial Day marks the start of summer for many, and I’m confident that, like me, you are ready to have some fun after a tough 16-17 months. We are trying to end the year strong by keeping students engaged, and I think many of them enjoyed the visit today and yesterday by members of the Fairfax County Police Department Helicopter Division. Special thanks to Criminal Justice teacher Patrick Loftus for arranging the visit! We are also looking forward to celebrating graduation next week and want to express our appreciation for senior class sponsors Karla Hogan, Karen Molloy, and Cameron Zottola for all their hard work behind the scenes.
Have a great holiday weekend,
Scott

5. Information Regarding Senior Portraits
If students scheduled online, they can use the same process to change their appointment. Prestigeportraits.com, use the code they received on the appointment card mailed home or search by school and student name.
The information that was mailed out didn't have preset appointments. Students need to sign up online or call in to our Customer Service team at 800-445-1191.
After the appointments in June, there will be another chance to have portraits taken toward the end of the summer. Stay tuned for information that will come directly from Lifetouch.
6. Calendar Reminder: FCPS Schools and Offices Closed on May 31 for Memorial Day Holiday
As a reminder, schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 31, for the Memorial Day holiday. Students are not expected to complete asynchronous assignments that day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, June 1. See the complete 2020-21 school year calendar.
7. Recognitions
The Equity team review panel had the difficult task of evaluating over 40 applications submitted by CHS students interested in being nominated as SEALS (Student Equity Ambassador Leaders) for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Candidate submissions were thoughtful, honest and expressed excellent ideas for Chantilly. However some responses were simply outstanding due to the writer’s maturity, depth of comprehension regarding social, emotional and cultural issues as well as the forethought given to proposed actions and moving our school and community forward.
We are pleased to announce that the following students have been nominated to serve as SEALS for the upcoming school year:
Yukta Ramanan
Thea Brown Hargrove
Zoe Zarnegar
Congratulations to our 2021-2022 Student Equity Ambassador Leaders!
