Yearbook Photos

This is the last week to either send in a portrait photo (if student was not able to have one taken in school) or sports photo (football, soccer, dance, martial arts, etc.)  We will not take submissions after May 21st.

Email them directly to Robert Schmeelcke at rfschmeelcke@fcps.edu with the student’s name, grade and any other pertinent information.

Grading Option Deadline Extended for Middle and High School Students

Earlier this school year, FCPS adopted a series of secondary grading policy changes to help our students with a strong finish to the school year. One of the key changes for middle and high school students is to allow students to request a mark of “P” (pass) instead of a letter grade in select courses. The deadline was extended to allow students more time to gain information about fourth quarter progress before making the final decision to submit a request form.

Teachers, school counselors, and administrators will be communicating with families regarding the updated timeline specific to each school.

  • For middle school students, the new deadline will be on or after June 1.

More information is available online

Summer Practice Books

Summer Practice Books will be mailed home to FCPS students to provide suggested activities for students to support continued learning.  Families who have opted-out of paper mailings from the division will only receive digital copies of the Summer Practice Books.  Books will be mailed home to families in early June to arrive before the last day of school, June 11, 2021.  Families will receive email communication in May about upcoming book arrival.  Digital versions of books will be emailed to the enrolling parent SIS account in PDF format the week of June 7, 2021.

  • Pre-Kindergarten students will receive one interdisciplinary Summer Practice Book.
  • Students enrolled in grades K-8 in 2020-21 will receive one Language Arts Practice Book and one Math Practice Book by course enrollment.  These books will also include information and guidance about digital tools that can be accessed by students and families to support learning throughout the summer.
  • English Learners and Special Education students may receive additional or customized books.

More information can be accessed on the Summer Practice Books public webpage.

The Substance Abuse Prevention Program

The Substance Abuse Prevention Program has recently launched a quarterly newsletter. It was primarily designed with parents in mind, but it is completely fine for students to read it as well. Here is the link SAP Program Quarterly Newsletter.
