End of Year Testing Calendar: A calendar detailing end of year testing to include SOL, AP, and Final exams is published on the WPHS website and can be accessed via this link.

West Po Student Equity Coalition Test Prep Materials Donation Drive, May 1-June 5: All done with test prep? Donate your SAT, ACT, AP, and other prep books and materials to be redistributed to West Potomac students who wouldn't otherwise have access to them. Class of 2021 Update: Senior Prom-A-Nade, May 22, 5pm – 10:30pm. – Theme: “Wonder Years” Our Seniors will begin this fun night traveling back in time as they walk through different time periods of their school journey. This is a free event for seniors; however, they must sign up for a specific time slot. Senior parents and students have been emailed with specific detailed information. Academic Recognition: Rising Stars, May 11- our Rising Stars students for 2nd Q and 2nd semester will be recognized during Advisory in a virtual ceremony.
All A Honor Roll, All A/B May 10 – All A students from 2nd Q and 3rd Q will be recognized in a virtual ceremony at 1 p.m., including a virtual gift card raffle. All A/B students will be included in the raffle, similar to the 1st Q recognitions. Thank you to Burke and Herbert Bank for supporting our students’ hard work and academic achievements!

The Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia accepting applications for the 2021 High School Leaders Program. Applications are due by midnight on Monday, May 17. The Sorensen Institute's High School Leaders Program offers a concentrated study in Virginia politics and government for high school students from across the state. The 2021 High School Leaders Program will take place virtually, via Zoom, over the course of three weeks in July. The class will meet Monday-Friday, July 12-29, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Program days will feature lectures, presentations, discussions, and workshops. Students must be at least 16 years old by the start of the HSLP and at least a rising junior. Class is also open to graduating seniors. Successful completion of the High School Leaders Program earns each student three graded college credits from the University of Virginia. Need Flexibility? New Self-Directed Classes This Year ($125.00) - For any student wanting to prep for official tests this fall and winter, the test prep program is offering self-directed online test prep created by Applerouth. This is an excellent course that covers all the content offered through the usual group class as well as tips and strategies for the official tests. Mock test or PSAT results provide a solid study guide. Applerouth tutors are available to assist self-directed students with any questions during the course. Mock tests are not included in the self-directed class but are readily available. PTSA currently has 29 licenses available. Register by contacting Marilyn Aboff at marilynaboff@yahoo.com.
