ALL Students To Be Virtual on June 8

Tuesday, June 8, is the Democratic Primary Election. Since the Fairfax County Electoral Board and City of Fairfax Electoral Board will be using 165 school facilities as polling locations, June 8 will be a virtual synchronous learning day (no in-person classes) for all students.

FCPS Will Have Limited Virtual Program for 2021-22 School Year

FCPS will offer all student five days of in-person learning in the fall, and will be offering a limited, centralized Virtual Program for students with documented health/medical needs.

Spring Into May With a Clean Pup!

Weber's Pet Supermarket Dog Wash Spirit Days run Monday, May 3 - Saturday, May 15

The dog bath is $16.00 per dog - $10.00 of every bath is donated to Crossfield.

Store Hours: Monday-Friday 10 AM-6 PM; Saturday 10 AM-5 PM, Sunday-Closed. Last dog wash is 30 minutes before closing.

Bagels With A Buddy on Monday, May 17, 8-9 AM

The Crossfield PTO invites your child to enjoy breakfast with someone special (parent or caregivers).

RSVP by May 10th to reserve your bagels. Bring a picnic blanket or chair if you'd like to stay (social distant, of course!); grab & go if you'd rather eat at home.

Student Intentions 2021-2022 School Year

If your child/children (Kindergarten through Grade 6) will be attending another school in Fairfax County or outside of Fairfax County Public Schools (public or private) for the next school year (2021-2022), please fill out the Student Intentions form

Please email the completed form to our registrar, Kathy Theis, at kat@fcps.edu.

Please note:  If your child will be joining us at Crossfield again next year, there is no need to fill out the form. Your child’s record will automatically roll back into our Student Information System and no new registration paperwork is required for the new school year.


SOL (STANDARDS OF LEARNING) TESTING UPDATES

We ask that ALL 3rd through 6th grade families complete this SOL participation intent form for each child.

If you choose to refuse the grade 3-8 SOL reading or mathematics test for your virtual student, you will have the opportunity for them to complete an alternative, non-SOL test at home. The Virginia Remote Student Progress Monitoring Test will provide information about strengths and areas for growth in grade level content standards. 

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR DISTANCE LEARNING STUDENTS TESTING ON MONDAYS:

  • Review the Daily Health Screening Questions. Stay home if you answer ‘yes’ to any question and email ltfadden@fcps.edu to reschedule your SOL.
  • Wear a mask.
  • You may bring a water bottle.
  • Students do NOT need to bring a computer.
  • You may bring a book to read if you finish early.
  • Students testing at 9:00AM:
    • Must be dropped off in the KISS ‘N RIDE LOOP 8:30-8:50AM so that testing may begin promptly at 9:00AM. 
    • Do not park in the bus loop.
    • Parents should be in the KISS ‘N RIDE LOOP at 11:30AM for student pick-up.  Students will be dismissed at 11:30AM.
  • Students testing at 1:00PM:
    • Must be dropped off between in the KISS ‘N RIDE LOOP 12:30-12:50PM so that testing may begin promptly at 1:00PM.
    • Do not park in the bus loop.
    • Parents should be in the KISS ‘N RIDE LOOP at 3:30PM for student pick-up.  Students will be dismissed at 3:30PM.

 IMPORTANT NOTES FOR HYBRID STUDENTS TESTING TUESDAY-FRIDAY:

  • Review the Daily Health Screening Questions. Stay home if you answer ‘yes’ to any question and email ltfadden@fcps.edu to reschedule your SOL.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Be on time to school.
  • Restart your computer every morning you are at school (starting today), this will help your machine stay healthy & ready.
  • BRING YOUR FULLY CHARGED LAPTOP.
