Our PTA has an AMAZING week planned to show gratitude for our TLES teachers. Family Presentation: Positive Behavior Management

SOL Information

Recently, we notified you (https://www.fcps.edu/node/36624) about the Standards of Learning (SOL) tests your student is identified to take this spring for federal and state requirements. The notification included information about how you can refuse (https://www.fcps.edu/node/34277) one or more SOL tests for your student.

We have finalized the in-person SOL tests for your student. At this time, we will offer SOL tests on the following dates:

Reading SOL Test (all students will test in mixed groups and will stay with the groups the entire day)

6^th Grade Reading Test

May 11^th

3^rd Grade Reading Test

5^th Grade Reading Test

May 12^th

4^th Grade Reading Test

May 20^th

Math SOL Test (all students will test in mixed groups and will stay with the groups the entire day)

If your student attends virtually we need your confirmation that they will be able to participate in testing at Timber Lane Elementary School. Picture Day

The Picture Day at Timber Lane this school year will be on Monday, May 10^th from 8:15 AM to 12:15 PM. This service will be available to students by appointment ONLY.

Pictures will be taken in the school gym. Parents are requested to drop students at Door 5 and wait outside. Staff members will accompany students to and from the gym.

Please complete the attached Health Screener form before bringing your student/s to school. Students are required to always wear face masks, except when they are being actively photographed.

Payment methods and picture order information can be found in flyers attached to this email.

Pictures will be ready six weeks after the Picture Day and will be delivered to Timber Lane. Parents are requested to collect their student/s pictures from the school.

Virtual Students Vision/Hearing Screening Reminder (K, Grade 3, & students new to county)

FCPS is offering vision/hearing screening for all virtual students in Kindergarten, Grade 3 and students new to FCPS.

Parents of students attending virtually may opt-out by completing and returning the Vision and Hearing Screening Opt-Out Form. If you are not opting out of the screening, please contact front office at 703-206-5300 to sign-up for a time slot to come to Timber Lane Elementary and have the vision and hearing screening completed.

7th Grade Immunization Requirement Notice

All students entering 7^th grade in 2021-2022 school year will be required to receive one dose of Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis booster (Tdap), and Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) prior to the beginning of school.

7^th grade students cannot begin school in August without proper Tdap and Meningococcal documentation.

Please provide one of the following documents to your student’s current school as soon as possible:

An updated immunization record showing that the student has received the missing immunization(s).
A note on a healthcare provider’s letterhead stating the date the vaccine(s) was given.
A healthcare provider’s written statement of a permanent or temporary medical exemption.
A notarized Religious Exemption Form which is available online at:

Immunizations are available from your student's healthcare provider or the Fairfax County Health Department. The Health Department clinic locations and hours are available online at: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/health/immunization/school or by calling 703-246-2411.

Meal Kit Distribution

7-day meal kits will be distributed on Mondays at Door 1 from 10:00-12:00.

Kindergarten Registration

If you have a preschool-aged child who is eligible for kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year, please use this link to access the form. Return completed forms to the office as soon as possible.

If you know of any children in your neighborhood who also have rising kindergartners, please share this information or ask them to reach out to Sevil Tahmazova, 703-206-5300.

Virginia law, Section 22.1-254 requires that children who will reach their fifth birthday on or before September 30, 2021 must enroll in kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year. If your child turns five on or before 09/30/2021 and you do not wish to enroll him/her in kindergarten, please let us know in writing.

The form can be submitted to Sevil Tahmazova stahmazova@fcps.edu or by dropping it off at the school, door number 1.

Recordatorio para los exámenes de Visión/Audición para los estudiantes virtuales (K, tercer grado y los nuevos en el condado)

FCPS ofrece exámenes de vista / audición para todos los estudiantes virtuales de Kinder, tercer grado y estudiantes nuevos en FCPS.

Los padres de los estudiantes que asisten virtualmente pueden optar por no completar y devolver el Formulario de exclusión del examen de la vista y la audición.
