Dear Westbriar Community:
As you may be know, Ms. Tam will be out on leave till May 28, 2021.
While she is on leave, I am pleased to announce that Mr. Dwayne Young, retired FCPS principal, will be serving as the interim principal at Westbriar Elementary School. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Young was the principal at Centreville Elementary School as well as the principal at Louise Archer Elementary School; he will begin his time at Westbriar on Monday, April 26, 2021.
Mr. Young received a B.S. in Education from Ohio State University and attained his Master’s in Educational Administration from George Mason University. He also holds an endorsement in Gifted/Talented Education. He is a collaborative and innovative educator with over 30 years of successful teaching and administrative experience in Fairfax County Public Schools.
Mr. Young is a highly respected leader in FCPS who has worked in a variety of leadership roles across schools in all regions. Please join me in welcoming him to the Westbriar Elementary School family.
