Message from the Principal
Fairfax County Public Schools sent this bulletin at 04/16/2021 04:24 PM EDTGreetings Saxons,
Another week is in the books in Saxon Country. Before we start this week’s celebration, I would like to address a situation which created anxiety for some of our students. This week’s Langley Links lessons were a two-part segment which related to microaggression, allyship and the discrimination members of the AAPI community have faced throughout American history. Tuesday’s lesson began with a student survey. A number of parents and students took time to share some students found the survey troubling. Please know, that as we continue to work to make Langley a safe space for all, it was never our intention to make students feel uncomfortable. For this, I apologize. Based upon the feedback and comments many of you shared, we have reflected and implemented additional steps to ensure this mistake is not repeated. I thank you for your understanding.
Our students continue to shine this spring. Great things are happening on the stage, court, and field. As the talents and skills of our students are unmatched, let’s get this party rolling!!
