Standards of Learning (SOL) Testing Schedule And Right To Refuse Assessments

All SOL tests are taken in-person at school. SOL tests are not available for remote delivery from home. Our staff will schedule specific SOL testing dates for your student. In some cases, it may be necessary for us to schedule an SOL testing appointment on a day when your student is not normally attending at school. For example, certain tests may need to be scheduled on a Monday. If this is the case, bus transportation will be provided to school, as needed. For any SOL assessments this spring, you have the right to refuse testing for your student. The Right to Refuse Assessments webpage (https://www.fcps.edu/node/34277) offers information and considerations as you make this decision.

Please complete this online Google form to indicate your child’s participation in the SOL assessments by Monday, April 19th at 12:00pm. (Families will need to log in with their child’s FCPS Google Account (StudentID#@fcpsschools.net). Contact our main office at Bailey’s Upper Elementary School at 703-503-2700 if you need help accessing or completing the form.

April is Month of the Military Child

Logo

Did you know that more than 14,000 military-connected youth call FCPS home? Join FCPS in celebrating them during Month of the Military Child. Wednesday, April 21st, is Purple Up Day when all are encouraged to wear purple in recognition of the strength and sacrifices of military-connected youth.

Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military. It is a combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red, and Navy blue.
