Principal's Message
As we begin our spring break, I share with you a special poem written by Ms. Krieber's class. It was a special treat for Mrs. Thomas and I to have some of our students share this poem in person. After they shared, I asked them how they developed their collective work. It was a joy to hear how they worked on shared individual ideas through writing lines of poetry, working on each other's strengths and then improving upon their work in groups. I'm proud of the resilience and hard work of our students. During a year like no other, they continue to amaze me. I'm thankful to be your principal.
You may enjoy their video here.
Enjoy your break and thank you for your partnership,
Stacy Kirkpatrick
History in the Making By: Ms. Krieber’s Class
This year in fifth grade came off a different start It felt like we might just all fall apart We came in with our heads held high We didn’t let any negativity get by
There were times when we had doubt But we stuck together with no pout Wondering what might happen next Always hoping for the best
We stocked up on masks wanting it to end Oh how we wanted to go and see our friends Day after day learning behind a screen At times it was quite a boring scene
Plans have changed we are coming back Hoping corona will cut us some slack Now we’re here it’s time to grab your pack Make sure you don’t forget your snack
Back in the building three feet apart Pencils and paper, we’re ready to start Now that we are back in school We’re learning all the new rules
Although times have changed New things are still within range Managing all the different things That these new times bring
Even though we’re adapting to change There’s still a lot of courage left in our veins Our hearts are big, and minds are growing But to this day our spirits still glowing
