Glasgow Community Gazette - April 4

Glasgow Community:

I hope your student had a restful, enjoyable spring break. My family and I had a wonderful time in Colorado, where we skied and hiked.

It is hard to believe, but 3rd quarter has ended and 4th quarter is beginning. Our final months of school always go by incredibly fast - this year, as challenging as it has been, is no different. Hopefully, spring break has given your student important time to rest (and get some screen-time breaks). As a reminder, tomorrow is a teacher work day with no asynchronous work for students.

Picture Day is this week. Students who are attending school in-person will have their picture taken during their Health and PE class on either the Tuesday/Wednesday Cohort or the Thursday/Friday Cohort.  Students who are virtual will be able to make an appointment and have their picture taken after school hours on either April 7th or April 8th. Pictures will be taken in the library.

Per FCPS, in response to family feedback and student check-in results, FCPS will be seeking to lessen the stress and anxiety posed for some students who have been challenged by the virtual learning environment during the past (and ongoing) pandemic year. FCPS will provide three additional grading changes to support middle and high school students. More information on the grading policy changes is available online.

Looking ahead, SOLs will begin in May. Although there are modifications this year, testing will resume. We will be sharing key information regarding testing in the coming weeks.

As always, please reach out to me with any questions.
