Eaglegram

Dear Clermont Families,

As we head into Spring Break, Ms. Peace and I want to wish all our Clermont Families a healthy and restful break. Our school will be closed during Spring Break, and as such school staff members will not be replying to emails during the break in order to spend much needed time with family. When we return on April 6, we will be entering the 4th and final quarter of school. Student attendance is more important than ever as we approach the last quarter so please reach out to administration or your child’s teacher if you have any concerns or questions when we return.

Enjoy the break,

Ms. Salata, Principal

Spring Break Plans?

Spring break is March 29 – April 2. Here are some safety tips to be aware of, especially if you are planning on traveling during Spring Break. Virginia Department of Health (VDH) urges all Virginians to avoid non-essential travel, especially if you are at higher risk of COVID-19 or if you will be visiting someone at higher risk of serious COVID-19 complications. This recommendation applies to everyone, even if you have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have fully recovered from COVID-19.

  • FCPS does not currently have travel restrictions.
  • Students are not required to quarantine or provide COVID-19 test results for either domestic or international travel. Parents may opt to keep their children at home for 14 days after they return from travel, however, it is not required.
  • Any student, staff or visitor demonstrating symptoms of illness is asked to stay home to help “Stop the Spread” of COVID-19.

FCPS Family and School Partnerships Tip: Teach Your Child to See People's Strengths

See the positive character traits in a person. Differences between people may cause tension at home, in school or in society.

If we think negatively of someone, we may act negatively towards them. Seeing the positive traits in people makes it easier to get along, cooperate and accomplish things together.

Explain to your child that there is usually more than one way to interpret a situation or why someone reacts as they do.  Talk about ways to view a person’s characteristics. Might there be positive traits that contrast with negative ones such as: open minded and direct, gentle, curious, determined, standing up for beliefs, and calm.

Positivity is a key personal characteristic in school success. For more on social emotional learning, check out FCPS school counseling services.
