Message from the Principal

Dear Bulldog Family-

It has been another great week here at Westfield High School! Students were able to take advantage of their catch-up days and make sure that they were set up for success going into the end of the third quarte. Please remind your students to finish strong as this upcoming Friday, March 26th is the last day of the third quarter. Remember, this is also an early release day for students.  The bell schedule can be found on our website here: https://westfieldhs.fcps.edu/about/bell-schedules.

I know there has been a lot of communication surrounding grading policy changes as well as changes to the school calendar for next year. We are working to put together a presentation to get to you with all of this information and how it may impact your students. In an effort to cause less confusion and efficiently answer all questions, we will wait to distribute that information until we have completed our presentation. If you have immediate questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s counselor and/or administrator.

Lastly, we have seen the new guidance by both the CDC and Governor Northam. We will continue to wait on direct guidance from FPCS as we look at events for the remainder of the school year, to include senior events such as Graduation. As soon as we have more information we will make sure to get it directly out to you.

I hope that you all have been able to enjoy a fantastic weekend! As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, feedback or celebrations. You can also communicate directly through the form located here: https://forms.gle/4eW9rgPRVBF2a5gd8.

Go Bulldogs!

Westfield HS Library Curbside Book Delivery

The Westfield High School Library will have our book drop off and return at an Elementary School in your neighborhood this coming Monday. Look for the yellow FCPS bus in the parking lot of the school.  Before pick-up  and drop-off on Monday afternoon you will need to:

Go into the Westfield Library catalog https://search.follettsoftware.com/metasearch/ui/103902

Search the Westfield catalog and if you see a book that you would like to read put a hold on it. (Directions are on the library page in Schoology)

We will also have some books on the bus for you to browse through for check-out.

The books will be delivered to an elementary school closest to your house on Monday afternoon. (See schedule below) If you have placed a book or books on hold, please email me and let me know what elementary school you will be coming to get the books.

No need to get a ride anywhere-- get some exercise and walk to the elementary school to pick up or return the books.  If you have textbooks or any other Westfield book that need to be returned, bring them to the bus..

If for whatever reason you are unable to get to the bus, please email me. (jtlesser@fcps.edu)

Remember to wear a mask.  We all want to stay healthy.

Ice Dog Hockey Club

The Westfield Ice Dogs Hockey Club is looking for experienced ice hockey players to join the team for the upcoming Spring season!

Spring teams include current 9th-12th graders, and also current 8th graders who will attend Westfield High School in the Fall.  The Spring team plays an 8-game regular season running from April 5th to June 20th, with most games on Saturday, and is a great opportunity to start building toward the primary Fall/Winter season (which runs from October 2021 - February 2022).

Please contact faculty sponsor John Baranowski (jebaranowski@fcps.edu) for more information.
