Dear Bulldog Family:
I hope that you are all doing well! We had a great second week of welcoming students that are coming back to the building and are looking to continue to build consistency in the concurrent environment. This is an entirely new environment for teachers, students, and families, and I am incredibly proud of how hard our staff is working to provide the best educational experiences possible for all of our students. It will be difficult at times for sure, but please know that we are doing and trying everything we can do to support you all!
For this week, we have a couple of things to look at. There is more information on these below as well. First, we will have our “Catch-Up” days this week on Tuesday, March 16th and Wednesday, March 17th. Please encourage your students to take full advantage of these days as the 3rd Quarter closes on Friday, March 26th. Additionally, we have shifted our bell schedule slightly to maximize instructional time. There are no changes to the start and end times for the school day, only to the lunch and class schedules. You should have seen previous communication about this via Schoology and there is additional information found here on our website as well: https://westfieldhs.fcps.edu/about/bell-schedules.

Catch Up Days
“Catch Up Days” will be held on March 16th and 17th. Like previous catchup days, they will be synchronous instruction days. All students will follow their regular schedule and teachers will take attendance. Teachers will give no new content on “catch up days”. Teachers will be available to provide students with missed assessments to make up. Teachers may also use these days to help students catch up on notes or activities from missed lessons.
Ice Dog Hockey Club
The Westfield Ice Dogs Hockey Club is looking for experienced ice hockey players to join the team for the upcoming Spring season!
Spring teams include current 9th-12th graders, and also current 8th graders who will attend Westfield High School in the Fall. The Spring team plays an 8-game regular season running from April 5th to June 20th, with most games on Saturday, and is a great opportunity to start building toward the primary Fall/Winter season (which runs from October 2021 - February 2022).

Westfield HS Library Curbside Book Delivery
The Westfield High School Library will have our book drop off and return at an Elementary School in your neighborhood this coming Monday. Look for the yellow FCPS bus in the parking lot of the school. Before pick-up and drop-off on Monday afternoon you will need to:
Go into the Westfield Library catalog https://search.follettsoftware.com/metasearch/ui/103902
Search the Westfield catalog and if you see a book that you would like to read put a hold on it. (Directions are on the library page in Schoology)
We will also have some books on the bus for you to browse through for check-out.
The books will be delivered to an elementary school closest to your house on Monday afternoon. (See schedule below) If you have placed a book or books on hold, please email me and let me know what elementary school you will be coming to get the books.
No need to get a ride anywhere-- get some exercise and walk to the elementary school to pick up or return the books. If you have textbooks or any other Westfield book that need to be returned, bring them to the bus.
If for whatever reason you are unable to get to the bus, please email the librarian, Mrs. Lesser (jtlesser@fcps.edu).
Remember to wear a mask. We all want to stay healthy.
