The beautiful weather this week meant spending lots of time outdoors. Wherever you are learning, we hope you found some time to enjoy the sunshine!

What's Happening at Mount Eagle

March 12, 2021

Grades 3-6: In-person students ready for next Tuesday

Families whose Grade 3-6 child will be attending in-person will receive an email with details about arrival, dismissal and expectations for lunch & recess. Please look for the email from Ms. Consolla. We look forward to seeing students when doors open at 8:55am.

schedule

Virtual Instruction Schedule: Now that we've had a full week to run our new schedule, we've been able to make some adjustments. Here is the schedule for when students are at home learning virtually. For students who are in the building on Tuesday & Wednesday, their schedule looks a little different because it includes recess and time for dismissal.

Challenging Behaviors at Home

The Mount Eagle Student Support Team will be virtually presenting “Challenging Behaviors: Strategies for Home” on March 24th at 6 PM (English) and 7 PM (Spanish). All parents and caregivers are welcome to attend! We will be sharing how to identify a power struggle, different strategies to handle them, and the 1-2-3 Magic approach. A link will be provided closer to the presentation date. We can’t wait to see you there!

Kids

Masks: What's okay?

All students who come to school must have masks that fit their face snugly. Please do not give your child an adult mask that is too big. Also, masks with valves are not allowed at school. If your child needs a replacement mask during the school day, we can provide one. Masks must be worn on all buses and throughout the day, except for eating.

Return to School Technology Updates

As more students begin returning to the building, the ability of our staff to provide students and parents with technology support is going to be increasingly limited. If you need technology support at home, please consult the FCPS Technology Support for Families page for troubleshooting assistance. If you need additional support, please contact the Parent Technology Help Desk at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS). This will be answered by staff members between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., seven days a week. They will forward your issue to Mount Eagle staff if it is something that needs to be resolved by the school.

To support the return to school buildings, FCPS has now enabled Chrome Sync on student accounts. Chrome Sync will allow students to save passwords and sync passwords and bookmarks across devices. We strongly encourage students to turn on Chrome Sync on their FCPS devices. This will reduce their log-in time for websites and allow them to easily move between devices without losing bookmarks. To use Chrome Sync, support resources are available on the FCPS website. If your child is logging into Chrome now, they may need to log out of Chrome and log back in to see the new features.
