Dear Clermont Families with In-Person Students,
It has been exciting to welcome some of our students into the building over the past few weeks! If you participated in one of the Parent Nights prior to your child’s return to the school building, you may have heard questions and comments regarding the playground being closed during recess time. At the time of our Parent Nights, the guidance from FCPS was that the playgrounds were to remain closed during recess. Wednesday, FCPS sent out new guidance around playgrounds during recess.
Clermont will still be adhering to some restrictions regarding our playground; however, a schedule will be created so that two classes at a time will be allowed on the playground during recess time. We have worked very hard to maintain the integrity of the daily schedule so that both the virtual and the in-person students still have the same 11:50 – 12:50 block of time for lunch and recess in the middle of the day. Therefore, a very specific schedule will be worked out for classes so that each class does get an opportunity to use the playground at some point during their two days in-person.
As soon as the new playground schedule is available it will be communicated to teachers, along with the new mandatory protocols and procedures. Until then, students will still receive their outdoor recess time in their designated areas, and the teachers will continue to guide the children through safe and fun activities.
