A Message From Principal Yacubovich

welcome back

Playground Update

We are excited to announce that we are now able to have in-person students use the playground during their in-person days. Students will sanitize their hands before and after playing on the playground, and teachers will monitor to keep social distance as much as possible. We know that students may be within 10 feet of each other during recess, so all students are still required to wear their masks for recess.

Because our responsibility to keep children safe reaches far beyond health protocols, only students assigned to be in the building that day can be on school grounds such as the playground and field. All other visitors will be asked to leave the area from 8:30 AM- 4:00 PM.

Virtual Students School Supply Pick-up- TOMORROW

Thanks to the efforts of the FCPS Title I office, we are able to offer another set of school supplies for each child at Pine Spring.

If your child is coming to school in-person, we will use their supplies at school to avoid you needing to purchase materials for them to return to school.

If your child is continuing to learn virtually for the remainder of the year, we will be distributing their materials on 3/15 between 11:00AM – 12:30PM at the main entrance of Pine Spring.

Each child will be provided a bag with the following supplies:

  • Folders
  • Notebooks
  • Glue sticks
  • Earbuds
  • Scissors
  • Eraser
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Pack of pencils
  • Pack of colored pencils
  • Pack of crayons
  • Dry Erase Markers

Books From Luther Jackson Middle School

Thanks to the Luther Jackson community's incredible kindness, every child at Pine Spring will receive a brand-new book this week! The Luther Jackson principal, Mr. Magliola, and other Luther Jackson team members will be at Pine Spring to hand out books tomorrow at our virtual students' supply distribution. He will be back later in the week to give the books to our in-person students during their regularly scheduled school days.

Pine Spring Night at Luzmary- March 19th

eat out

Join us this Friday at Luzmary for incredible authentic Bolivian food. Not only will you enjoy a wonderful meal with your family, but you will also support the Pine Spring PTA. If you order from Luzmary on March 19 and tell them you are with Pine Spring, our PTA will receive a portion of the profits.

Our PTA uses these funds to do things like Family Bingo Nights, technology, teacher appreciation, school beautification, and so many other things that make Pine Spring such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Selection Waitlist

At Pine Spring, we have worked very hard to meet families' requests to change their placement selection. At this point, we are no longer able to accommodate any further changes. However, if you have a desire to change your selection, please email me at neyacubovich@fcp.edu. Your requests will be recorded on a waitlist in the event that we are able to make changes in the future.

PAWS Awards

We are always looking for ways to share how much we appreciate and support all of the hard work our staff is putting into this year. If you have seen one of our teachers or other staff members doing something above and beyond please consider sharing through our PAWS form. Your feedback will enter them into a weekly opportunity for a gift card, thanks to a donation from our PTA.

Kiss and Ride Tag

If you are using Kiss and Ride this year and do not have a tag, please complete this form to receive a tag number. You should display the tag in the front window of your car when picking up your child.
