Updates and Reminders for Week of March 8th

Panthers - thank you for an excellent week of school.  All students helped us take these new steps with our school year in stride.  It was great to have some of our 8th graders back in the building this past week.  For the upcoming week, we will welcome in-person 7th graders to the school along with 8th graders.

As we head into this next transition, we want to share some updates and reminders - most of which applies to all of our students along with details specific to our in-person students.  Thank you for taking the time to review these items.

Schedule for Week of March 8th

Please note that we have switched 1st and 4th periods between A and B days.  This allows for us to hold Panther Time during the first part of the day on Tuesday and Friday so that we can hold our student orientations first thing in the morning.

All 7th grade students will participate in Orientation activities through their Panther Time classes on Tuesday and Thursday.  8th graders will engage in regularly scheduled Panther Time activities.

ALL Parents/Guardians- Please view your student’s instructional preference in ParentVUE

Schedules/Classroom Numbers

for In-Person Students

  • On a student's designated first day, they will report to their 4th period Panther Time Class. Their fourth period teacher will provide them a copy of their schedule and a map of the building. Administrators and school staff will be in the hallways greeting students and assisting them to get to their 4th period class during the first few weeks of school.
  • Students and/or Parents/Guardians may log into StudentVue or ParentVue to see which class room each of their classes is located. At a minimum, please have your child identify their 4th period - PANTHER TIME CLASSROOM NUMBER as that is where they will receive a copy of their schedule.

Transportation Information

Parents of students who have selected in-person instruction are able to view their child's bus route assignment using the SIS ParentVue account. The image below will help you find the information in ParentVue. Earlier this month, the FCPS Transportation Team sent a notice to all families about their student’s route assignments. If you have not checked your student’s route assignment, please do so as soon as possible. If there is an issue with the route assignment, families are asked to call 703 249 7000.  It is suggested that students plan to arrive at their bus stop five minutes early in the morning.

Students may not participate in “in school” instruction and activities until meeting this requirement.

For questions about immunization requirements for your child, or to send proof of your child’s Tdap vaccination, please contact Andrea Tawil  ajtawil@fcps.edu.
