SCA Box Tops

Dear Hunt Valley Families and Staff,

There is a new digital way to turn in your Box Tops. First, you will have to download the Box Top app to your phone. Next, you will have to fill in the information requested. Lastly, you will have to scan your receipt for the box tops near the barcode. Simple enough you are all done. Detailed instructions are attached here at this link:

https://huntvalleyes.fcps.edu/activities/student-council

You are still allowed to turn the Box Tops in person if you prefer.

We also want to thank our Hunt Valley community for all the mask donations.  We received 174 masks and are researching where we will donate them to.

Thank you for all your support.

Reminder for Parents/Guardians about SIS ParentVUE

Please access PVUE periodically to check in on your student(s) attendance and to view progress reports at the end of each quarter.  If you have not yet created a PVUE account, please do so by reaching out to the school SIA to provide an activation code. Details on what can be found in PVUE and how to activate a new PVUE account using your activation code can be found here - Student Information System - SIS Parent Account Overview

Tech Support for Parents and Students

To support families who are working with their children during distance learning, FCPS has launched a new Parent Technology Help Desk. The help desk can be reached at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS) and will be answered by staff members between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., seven days a week.

Parents or guardians can call this number for basic tech support with parent accounts, help with FCPS student devices and technical assistance with other FCPS applications. If help desk staff members are unable to solve the issue, they will enter a support ticket on behalf of the parent/guardian to escalate the issue to the appropriate FCPS team. Parents who need help in a language other than English can inform the help desk staff when they call of their preferred language, and an interpreter will join in on the call.

FCPS has also set up Parent and Student Technology Support portal at https://itweb.fcps.edu/itsupport/ to allow older students and parents/guardians to request technology help directly. When a support request ticket is entered through the portal, it is auto-routed to the TSSpec at the appropriate site to expedite service.

Library

Curbside Checkout

As some students return to the building, there may be questions about access to library books.  For the time being, checkout will remain through Curbside Checkout.  Mrs. Bartlett will be meeting with grade levels to discuss how to best serve the readers in their classrooms.

We got a LOT Of new books this week.  Check out Destiny today!

Three steps:

  1. Pick book(s).  If you know what you want, put the books on hold in Destiny (the library catalog).  If you need some advice or aren’t quite sure the titles you’re wanting, use the Google Form to get assistance from the librarians.
  2. Pick time.  Pick a time that works for your family on the SignUp Genius.  If it’s after 3pm on Friday – pick a time on the FOLLOWING Monday.
  3. Pick up books at your time.  Mondays, Hunt Valley ES, door 8 between 2pm and 6pm.

Teacher appreciation forms updated on the PTA website

Do you know what sports team is your child's teacher's favorite? Do they prefer the symphony instead or have a favorite snack? Our HVES teachers have been asked to fill out a questionnaire about their favorite things. You can find your child's teacher's favorite form here: http://www.huntvalleypta.org/2020/06/teacher-appreciation-week-teachers-favorites/

Virtual After School Programs

Though some students are returning to in-person school, many after school programs are still offering virtual options. If you are interested in participating in an after school program you can check out available options on the PTA website.
