Principal's Message - 2/27/21

Stone MS

Good Morning Parents and Families:

We had another great week as we had a very successful return to school for our staff. I love how our students provided such a wonderful welcome video with such thoughtful messages. We are excited to begin another transition as we begin to welcome students back into the building. We are committed to ensuring ALL of our staff and students feel a part of this great Stone community. We look forward to continuing to share the highlights of the great work of our students and staff in both the virtual and in-person setting.

As we prepare for our 8th grade students to return in person,  please find information from our most recent town hall meeting. You can also find our most recent frequently asked questions. (Spanish Version here.) Our students can find an interactive presentation on return to school in their Schoology Student All Course.

Please continue to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I am so grateful for your support. Enjoy the weekend.

Stay safe and healthy ~ Meredith Norris, Principal

Portrait of a Panther

Our students continue to shine in the classroom as they participate and engage with one another. Check out this week’s Portrait of a Panther winners, many of whom did a great job asking questions and providing thoughtful feedback.

Black History Month

This month Stone Middle School celebrated Black History Month. The story of Black History is one of determination, embracing the beautiful, finding resilience, and amplifying voices to show the world that anything is possible. Students received daily messages in their Schoology course and our Panther News did an excellent job providing a feature story in every segment this month. Check out the inspiring messages here.

Student Services

Survey

Upcoming Parent Survey

This spring all Your School Name parents/guardians will be contacted through email with a link to the FCPS Principal Evaluation Parent/Guardian Feedback Form Online. This questionnaire is part of the Performance Evaluation Program and offers parents/guardians an opportunity to provide anonymous input about various topics related to our school. These topics include instructional leadership, school climate, human resources management, organizational management, communication and community relations and professionalism.

Understanding that this has been an unusual year, the impacts of COVID-19 will be taken into consideration when reviewing the feedback. The questionnaire will be collected online between March 8 and March 19. When you receive an email from FCPS Surveys, please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your opinions matter!
