Resources for Return to School

We will continue to host Parent Coffees and send out the slide decks/recordings directly to families who are preparing for their child’s return to in person instruction.  If you have a student returning in an upcoming group, please check for eNotify messages with information on how to access the sessions and/or recordings.  Below are FCPS resources that may also be useful as you prepare your family for the return:

Selfie Portraits for the Stenwood Yearbook:

Due 3/12

Selfie Portrait

Whether your student is in school, learning virtually or doing a hybrid of the two, the Stenwood yearbook staff is working harder than ever to get every student in the yearbook and cover every story during this unique, historic year. If your child did not make it to our in person fall portrait days at Stenwood, there is another opportunity to get your child’s picture in the yearbook.  If your child participated in the fall portrait day, you do not need to submit a picture.  Walsworth and High5.ID are partnering with us by offering Selfie Portraits.  Some families will not receive the email because of their opt out choices from the fall.

Follow this quick, easy and safe three-step process to make sure your student’s portrait gets in the yearbook!

Step 1

You will receive a link via email to take your student’s picture. Make sure you have your student's ID number handy. You can also access the program by going here.

Step 2

You or your student will take their selfie portrait on your phone or computer webcam and upload.

Step 3

Photos are sent directly to our system and are used to create yearbook portraits.

Positivity Project: Cheering Others’ Success

PP Logo

This week, we are working on ONE of the FIVE overarching pillars of the Positivity Project. Cheering others’ success is an important test of our character every single day.

“Friends don’t get jealous of each other or begrudge the other for finding success. They celebrate every victory together.”

                                         ~Karen Kingsbury

How to Be Happy for the Success of Others

  1. Be grateful. The root of jealousy is cut off when you focus on the things you DO have, not that you don’t have.
  2. Be inspired instead of discouraged by their success.
  3. Don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone is different.
  4. Know that your value does not come from external things.

Curbside Library Checkout

Stingers can now go to Destiny Discover, the library catalog, and put books on hold!

Please note that the catalog may give you a pop-up message saying the book is ready – do not believe it!  Only come to the school AFTER you receive an email from us letting you know the items are ready and what time you’ll be able to pick them up. Be sure to mark your calendar because after one week, the books will be returned to the library so other students may enjoy them.

Click here for directions on how to put books on hold.

Need to return books?  You may return library books on Mondays from 2:30-3:30PM and Thursdays from 3:45-4:30PM.  Drop off location will be in the Kiss-n-Ride loop in the back of the school. As always, please contact Mrs. Cole, our librarian, if you have any questions.

Don’t Forget to Return Your Library Books!

Library Book Return
